ABOUT OUR BEEF

 

Cows are natural ruminants.  Their stomachs are designed to process forage.  Compared to grain-fed beef, grass-fed beef is lower in total fat, unwanted saturated fat, and higher in certain desirable fatty acids and anti-oxidants that may prevent heart disease, certain cancers, and diabetes as well as bolster our immune system.  Barbour Grass-Fed Beef is the healthy choice for dinner.

 

Barbour Grass-Fed Beef receives no steroids, growth hormones, antibiotics, implants, preservatives, colorings, or additives of any kind.  It is 100% natural - tender and flavorful nature's way.

 

 

HOW WE HARVEST OUR BEEF

 

Barbour Grass-Fed Beef is humanely harvested and processed at a family-owned, certified USDA handling facility that is federally inspected and specializes in grass-fed beef.  The carcass is dry-aged 7-10 days to ensure tenderness, cut to your specifications (for HALF BEEF orders), wrapped, labeled, and fast froze.  For extended freezer life, vacuum sealing in clear cryovac plastic is available.

HOW WE RAISE OUR BEEF

 

Barbour Grass-Fed Beef is raised with attention and care.  Our breed stock represents some of the best grass-fed genetics available.  Our calves are conceived naturally without artificial insemination, estrous synchronization, or embryo implants.  They are raised free-range on nature's basics of mother's milk, fresh water, and forage.

 

Our herd is managed for optimal quality.  Low-stress handling, cleanliness, and humane treatment of our animals are emphasized daily.

 

We know each animal on an individual basis:  its genetics, what and how it eats, even its temperament.  Enjoy the peace of mind in knowing how your beef is raised.
